I am interested in describing a space that defies gravity, that’s hard to hold onto, that seem fleeting, like the homes of our parents, where history and objects disappear before our eyes.  I explore the intersection of illusion and reality as I continue my conversation with Painting. The intersection develops using collage, either by cutting and sewing the painting, or by painting from a photo collage.  Collage allows for the disruption of form, line and space. And the introduction of materials like yarn help to push against the deception of the painting, further exposing its illusion.
